Get ready to track the bass with producer Gregg Fine in this "groove-along" course that will break down the bass lines and show you how to create your own grooves...

How many of your favorite songs can you name just from hearing the bass line? It's probably quite a few. That’s because the bass, when played and programmed by the pros, stands alone at bottom of the production where it serves as the foundation of the track! A great bass line can really make a good song even better! A powerful base line can act both as the foundation of the track and as another melodic hook within the track!

With his carefully crafted musical examples, Gregg gives you a great sense of how a bass line can evolve as your song builds. He uses musical notation so you can see and hear the bass and how it complements the song. Gregg explains how the bass serves to reinforce the chordal structure of a tune by "landing” on the different notes of the chords. He also explains the powerful relationship between the bass and kick. After all, the bass IS a member of the rhythm section!

What takes this bass line theory to even higher ground are Gregg’s thoughtful examples and play-along grooves that allow you see and hear how great bass lines are constructed.

Ask Video - The Foundation Of Synthesis 104: Control Voltage [TUTORiAL]

Ask Video - The Foundation Of Synthesis 104: Control Voltage [TUTORiAL]| 488.00 MB

See how Control Voltages changed the world of electronic music and synthesis...

Marc Doty—lead educator for The Bob Moog Foundation—is back with a series of tutorials in this course on Voltage Control.

But what is Voltage Control and how do you use it in the world of hardware synths? Well, here's the story: In the early days of sound synthesis, if you wanted your sounds to change or evolve in any way whatsoever, you had to do it manually. Need the pitch to go up? Grab the the oscillator knob and turn it! Want the volume to change? Again, grab the volume knob! What about sequencing a series of notes? Well, before voltage control, you had to record every pitch onto magnetic tape and cut them all together in the order and rhythm that you wanted. It was hard work to create electronic music way back when!

Voltage control forever changed all that! And in this course Marc Doty shows how different hardware synth designers harness the power of VCs to transform and supercharge electronic music composition. Taken one step further you'll see how Voltage Control was the mother of MIDI... and we all know how powerful MIDI is!

Bob Moog was an early pioneer and inventor of voltage-controlled analog synthesizers. He revolutionized the music industry and his ideas, inventions and musical instruments have dominated the sound of music for more than 30 years. MacProVideo - Logic 402: Logic's Guitar Recording Toolbox [TUTORiAL]| 540.39 MB

A message from Steve H:

"This tutorial is one of our finest Logic tutorials ever! With the addition of the Pedalboard and Amp Designer plugins, Logic’s virtual guitar arsenal is capable of overheating transistors, blowing out tubes and stomping out the most awesomely realistic or warped 6 string soundscapes anywhere! I’ve already started using many of these awesome techniques in my tracks and now you can too!”

Want to recreate that vintage British sound? How about hi-octane metal stacks or edgy leads? Maybe you want to create a combination of pedals and stacks that would be impossible in the real, hardwired world? With Logic’s Pedalboard and Amp Designer anything and everything is possible!

In this amazing tutorial, Logic’s Guitar Recording Toolbox, master guitarist, producer and educator, Toby Pitman, shows you everything you need to know about getting the perfect guitar sound in Logic. He explores every detail of the virtual amps, explaining their design, EQ, circuitry and history while simultaneously performing first class style-based examples on several of his collectable guitars. Tony teaches us how and why his guitars sound the way they do. Then Toby dives deep into the stomp boxes exploring their functionality and demonstrating routing techniques that best show-off the sonic power of Pedalboard.

But there’s so much more! Toby teaches us about impedance, the different kinds of pickups, the power of parallel microphone techniques and even how to create killer percussion parts using the electric guitar as the the sound source! He even amps the drums!
